Steve spent many of the last 50 years running away. "I was born and raised in Chicago. From there I went to Florida, where I had problems with drugs and the law. Then to North Carolina, Michigan, and finally, Faith Mission."

"My dad was a Chicago policeman for 35 years. I should have known right from wrong, but it was like I was born on the other side of the law. I was always rebelling, and every time I got out of jail I'd do something else and go back. I had three beautiful marriages, houses, a wonderful son, and lost them all," says Steve.
