Shelter the homeless. Faith Mission is the only emergency facility in Elkhart County where shelter, meals, clothing and long-term recovery programs are provided all in one place. Our doors are open 365 days a year to Elkhart County’s neediest men, women and children, regardless of origin, creed, age or gender. Once each person’s basic needs are met, we go to work restoring lives through our long-term residential and community network programs.
During the 2006 year, Faith Mission of Elkhart provided Emergency Shelter and Transitional Housing to 540 individuals*:
Meals are provided 3 times a day 7 days a week all year long to residents. Residents who work are provided a lunch to take with them. Faith Mission also provides lunch and dinner 7 days a week all year long for our free community walk-in meals program. Faith Mission served a total of 150,318 meals:
Chapel services are provided on Sunday and a service is held every evening:
Faith Mission Transports residents to and from work, medical and housing appointments:
Faith Mission helped residents acquire employment either full time, part time or day labor:
Faith Mission will refer residents to other community agencies if they need help with something that we can not provide. Faith Mission provides counseling and classes in for residents:
In 2006 Faith Mission has denied 139 families, 86 single women and 267 single men a place to stay due to lack of space. Total Bed Nights: 36,054 * Unduplicated Count
