Stuff-A-Bus
We
want to thank Martins Supermarket and WRBR who sponsored our Stuff-A-Bus
event. On Saturday November 8th with the help of volunteers from Elkhart
Central and Memorial High School Key Clubs,
Concord Middle School and
the kind generosity of the Elkhart community,
Faith Mission collected
3,
403LBS of food and personal care products. This will allow us to continue
to provide much needed care for men,
women and children who come to
the Mission. -
Faith Mission Volunteer Appreciation Banquet
On November 10th at Nelsons banquet hall in Wakarusa Faith Mission celebrated with all the volunteers that support the mission. The evening started out with two songs by the newly formed women’s choir “Faith Mission Women of Praise.” Ross Swihart, Executive Director gave an update on the mission and the progress of the new women’s and families’ facility. Special awards were given to Kathy Burris as this years Volunteer Partner award winner and Sunshine Caterers as this years Partner Award winner. Special thanks to all the volunteers and all who attended the event. Over $5, 000 in free will donations was raised that evening.

Giving Back to the Community
We want to give special thanks to the Elkhart County Community Foundation
for a generous grant of $12,
670 towards the purchase of 36 commercial
grade tables for our dinning room. It is through the support of special
friends like these that allows us to give back to those in need. -
Flu Shots
On November 27, 2007, the Elkhart County Health Department once again came to the Mission to provide flu shots to our staff and guests. Thanks to the volunteer nurses who came to the Mission to keep us healthy.
Did you know? According to FluFACTS, the flu season is generally considered between October and May with the peak of the season falling between late December and March.

at Faith Mission. Also, the Elkhart Branch of Cressy & Everett Real Estate made a donation to Faith Mission. We want to thank both of these organizations for thinking of Faith Mission. The Mission depends on generous donations from individuals and organizations like these.

Faith Mission Banquet
This past November 12, 2007 we hosted our Mission banquet at Nelsons Banquet Hall, starting at 6:00 p.m. During the event we celebrated the success of over 50 years of serving our community's neediest people.

Board President presents Tobe the 20 Years of Service AwardAwards were also given out to key members of the success of this organization. Charles Carter, former Board Member was honored with the Service Award. The partnership award was presented to The Elkhart Christian Academy for their support of the Mission.
One of the most important awards went to our Executive Director Tobe Swihart for his 25 years of service to the Mission. Tobe will be retiring next spring.
